Star Schools (Pty) Ltd is a supplementary education solution provider with various educational programmes, products and services integrated into its core line of business.
Since Star Schools’ inception in 1968 as a specialist supplementary education solution provider, the company has grown from strength to strength and today is dedicated to making teaching and learning an exciting, rewarding adventure for learners and educators.
Star Schools has developed and adopted the open teaching and learning architecture, providing a seamless interaction between contact and digital delivery methods.
Star Schools partners with the Department of Education school districts and public and private sponsors to raise learner achievement and educational outcomes. This is achieved through its research-based curriculum design, education management solutions and a virtual learning environment, professional development and extended learning programmes. The company has earned the trust of corporate, educational and government clients as well as the respect of its competitors.
The company CEO and Management Team are actively involved in day-to-day management decisions and ensure that the focus is on financial stability, quality and customer service.
In its endeavors to create value and establish realistic, meaningful and enduring empowerment, Star Schools has adopted a holistic approach to Black Economic Empowerment with 50% being owned by a BEE shareholder.
Star Schools is committed to real empowerment within its own corporate environment as well as in the wider community. Rather than laying down prescriptive guidelines, we believe that the principle of disclosure and transparency, and a governance system that integrates empowerment concerns at every level of the company, are the best mechanisms for achieving empowerment.
Star Schools serves more than 15 000 learners, nationally. Learners attend 240 study venues in 11 centres around the country. The numerous sites and projects are managed by Star Schools’ staff through three regional offices found in Gauteng, Cape Town and Kwa-Zulu Natal. Learners participate in supplementary learning, Saturday School, Winter School, Matric Re-write, Revision and Pre-Examination Programmes. These programmes are tailored specifically to cater for Grades 10, 11 and 12 and Star Schools intends to extending its’ services to Grades 8 and 9 in 2013. Star Schools subscribes to the Department of Education curriculum guidelines. In 2006, Star Schools were provisionally accredited by Umalusi Council for Quality Assurance in General and Further Education and Training.
In 2007 Star Schools launched a new division and brand within its’ offering, called Mystar. Mystar caters for all on-line and off-line delivery of the teaching and learning experience. Today, Mystar boasts a state-of-the-art audio and video recording studio, computer lab and resource centre, published books and interactive e-books in an array of subjects and a virtual learning environment that caters for all profiles of consumers.

Star Schools are proud of its’ Littlestar brand and product offering which caters for the delivery of a quality educational experience to Grades 1, 2 and 3 learners and educators.
